What is M&IE (Meals & Incidental Expenses)?
M&IE covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, tips for services, laundry, and small fees during business travel. No receipts needed if using federal rates. Full rate for complete days; 75% on first/last (partial) days.
What is Lodging?
Lodging covers hotel/room costs (excluding taxes – taxes can be separate). Full rate per overnight stay – no proration. Common to apply it to all travel days with overnight stays.
Notes:
• Current FY 2026 rates (unchanged): Standard $110 lodging / $68 M&IE.

• Reimbursements ≤ federal rates under an accountable plan are nontaxable.
